A magnetic brooch closes on itself: the front piece sits on the cloth, a magnetic plate holds it from behind, and nothing is pierced. Take it off and the garment is exactly as it…
Cats, dogs, owls, turtles, elephants and fish: our animal brooches cover the whole menagerie, in gold, silver and enamelled colours. Most of them fasten with a magnet rather…
Insect brooches at Mode Tendance are built around three winged shapes, the bee, the butterfly and the dragonfly, all in costume jewellery. There is no pin. A magnetic housing…
This page brings together the brooches built around a heart motif: a single heart, joined pairs, stacked trios and overlapping arrangements, in silver, gold or rose gold tones.…

The magnet sits on either side of the cloth, which suits fine knitwear, a shirt collar or a coat lapel. Anything thick or padded is where the pin still wins, because it goes straight through. On loose weaves, place the brooch where a seam or a facing gives the fabric a little support.
A lapel, the top of a pocket and a scarf knot all take a brooch well. On a fine jumper, a smaller piece keeps the knit flat; on a wool coat, a wider one reads better from a distance.
Felt hats, canvas bags and denim jackets hold the heavier designs well. Check the measurements given on the product page so the piece suits the surface you have in mind.
Flowers and hearts each have a section of their own, so start with the daisies, bouquets and abstract flower shapes or the ones built around a heart.
| Placement | What to look at |
|---|---|
| Coat or blazer lapel | A wider design, kept to a single layer of cloth |
| Fine knitwear | A smaller, lighter piece that will not drag the stitches |
| Scarf or collar | Enamel or resin, with no sharp edge against the skin |
| Bag, hat or denim | A pin fastening, or a magnet on a single layer of fabric |
Take the brooch off before the garment goes in the wash. Dust comes away with a soft dry cloth. Keep the two magnet halves together when you put it away, and store the piece apart from other jewellery so the enamel and the stones stay unmarked.
