The Excellanc watches at Mode Tendance slip on over the hand: the steel links stretch apart, then draw back around the wrist on their own, so there is no buckle to line up and no strap to shorten. What changes from one model to the next is the face, either a deep blue dial with Arabic numerals or a nautical scene of anchor and rope. Both run on quartz.

An expanding bracelet does the sizing for you. The links pull apart while your hand goes through, then close back in, which means nothing has to be punched, cut short or taken to a jeweller before you can wear it. On the two-tone model the band is 11 mm wide, narrow enough to sit under a shirt cuff without snagging on it. If you get on with that fitting, look through the rest of the pull-on styles.
Case diameter is the real decision here. The two-tone watch keeps a 26 mm round case that reads as jewellery more than as a timepiece and all but disappears under a sleeve. The maritime one runs to 36 mm, wide enough to be seen across a room and to carry a pattern of its own. Wrist width tells you more than the numbers do when you choose between them: a slim wrist usually wears the smaller case better, while a broader one takes the larger dial without looking crowded.
| Model | Case | Dial | Strap colours |
|---|---|---|---|
| Two-tone steel | Round, 26 mm, silver and gold | Blue, Arabic numerals | Silver and gold |
| Maritime style | Round, 36 mm, silver | Anchor and rope motif | Red, navy and white |
The nautical model puts its pattern where you actually look, on the dial itself, with an anchor and coiled rope set against a tricolour band of red, navy and white. It belongs with a striped top or plain linen once the weather warms up. The blue-dial watch takes the quieter route: gold and silver steel around a face that stays legible at a glance, which suits an office day running into the evening. The mineral glass on that model keeps the dial clear of the small scratches a bag strap leaves behind. A dry cloth over the links is enough upkeep for either one, and the quartz movement only asks for a battery now and then.
