One side talks, the other says nothing

Turn it over and the drawing is gone. The back is plain lilac throughout, stitched neatly around the edge, so face down on a table it gives nothing away. Face up, a black and white cat stretches across the front with its paws out in front of it and a small pink heart on its rump, surrounded by a white flower with a pink centre, a pink flower with a black one, dotted trails curling off towards the corners, and two small white ovals with music notes tucked inside.

Where everything sits

The inside is lined in black, which sounds unremarkable until you drop a pale card against it and find it first time. A zipped pocket runs down the middle and splits the wallet into two halves, coins on one side of it, folded notes on the other. Card slots sit along the flaps instead of being stacked away in a corner.

A zip-round cat wallet that opens flat

The zip travels the whole way round the edge, so the two halves fall open flat instead of gaping at one end. The pull carries a fringed tassel in the same lilac, held in a gold-toned cap, and that is far easier to catch hold of at the bottom of a bag than a small metal tab.

Carrying it

The long shape slides into a small bag without a fight and sits happily in the hand on its own, tassel outward. Lilac takes to raw denim, grey and off-white; against darker clothes it becomes the only real colour you have on.
