This Sweet & Candy coin purse measures 13.5 x 11 x 2.5 cm: a girl in a red coat printed on a pink ground, edged with blue and white daisies. The bronze-toned frame snaps shut on a double-ball clasp, the flap fastens with a press stud, and a tassel hangs from a ring at the side.

A kiss-clasp coin purse that closes in two different ways

The bronze-toned frame closes at the top with a double-ball clasp, the kind you press apart between thumb and finger. Below it, a flap folds over the front and fastens with a press stud. Either one can stay shut while you open the other, and that is what makes two fastenings worth having.

Under the flap: a window, two card slots, a zip

Lift the flap and the lining turns dusty pink. A clear window sits at the top, two card slots run underneath it, and a zip closes a flat pocket across the front of the purse. The framed compartment stays shut throughout.

The girl on the front, plain pink behind

On the front panel, a long-haired girl in a red coat stands against a pale pink ground, sunglasses pushed up on her head. Around her, lines of handwriting, a monument drawn in outline and a small green butterfly fill the space, and blue and white daisies run right round the edge. Turn the purse over and the drawing calms down: half plain pink, half a fuchsia print of white and lilac flowers.

The matching box in the photographs

The same girl and the same handwriting are printed on the lilac box shown beside the purse, lid lifted off and set behind it.

What the measurements actually mean

At 13.5 x 11 x 2.5 cm, it holds more than loose change without turning into a pouch. If you want more compartments than that, look at the designs built to keep cards, papers and coins apart.

Looking after the frame and the tassel

Given how little it is, the tassel is the part that suffers first. Close the flap before the purse goes into a bag, and keep the strands clear of the frame so they don't catch in the clasp. Wipe the metal dry if it has been out in the rain. Nothing abrasive on the printed panels.
