The pocket is on the back, not the front

Turn the bag round and the plain front makes sense: everything practical was moved out of sight. The zip crosses the whole back, edge to edge, and its gold pull drops flat once closed. That is where the things you touch every few minutes end up, with no need to open the bag itself. The front gets nothing in return: no flap, no seam, no pocket. Where the brown stops and the black begins

Two surfaces share this bag and never mix. The printed one wraps the body all round, holding a single steady scale of interlocking rings, pale brown laid over a deeper brown. The smooth one takes over wherever the bag is carried or set down: top band, handles, base, strap. Gold letters spelling Gallantry sit between the two handle mounts, and they are the only writing anywhere on it.

A bow on a chain, and nothing else that moves

Walk with it and you will catch a small swing on the left. It comes from a flat black bow, uneven at the ends, clipped to a short gold chain that hangs off the handle mount. Take it off and the front reads plainer still. Every other metal part is fixed: tubular caps gripping the base of each handle, a D-ring on either side, and the back zip pull picking up the same gold.

Elbow, shoulder, and the 17 cm in between

Handle drop decides how a bag can be carried, and here it comes to 17 cm. Enough for a hand or a forearm, not for a shoulder, and certainly not over a winter coat. The black strap answers that: it clips onto the side rings, lifts off in a second, and arrives at one fixed length, with no slider to adjust.
