The CURRENT strap sets the tone

White diagonal stripes and block lettering run the length of a translucent strap, pale in the middle with green edges. A green tab, closed with a gold-tone rivet, joins the strap to the clasp. Hold it up and the strap reads first, the bear second.

Mint green head, orange body, one leg in each colour

The head is mint green, the ears orange with green inside them. The chest is orange and carries a raised lightning bolt; the stubby arms are white. Look down and the legs swap the two colours over.

Cross-shaped eyes and a small raised smile

The face is moulded rather than printed, so the two crosses and the smile stand slightly proud of the surface. The effect is graphic, and it reads at arm's length.

The strap adds 10 cm to the figure, which is enough for the bear to sit outside a coat pocket rather than inside it. Put your keys on the split ring and save the lobster clasp for a bag handle or a zip pull.

Wiping the pale areas

Use a soft cloth, barely damp, and go over the white arms and the pale centre of the strap several times without pressing. Leave the keyring to dry flat. Day to day, pick it up by the ring rather than by the ears.
