A small zipped wallet that stays flat in a bag

Drop it into a tote and it disappears; put it in a jacket pocket and the pocket keeps its shape. At 12x9x2.5 cm this one is short rather than long, so it sits across the palm instead of along it. The slim profile is the practical point: nothing snags on a lining, and nothing has to be fished out from under a hairbrush.

One wallet, two very different outsides

Turn it over and the mood changes. The terracotta side is the talkative one, with lettering, a chocolate bar and an ice cream cone worked in two thread colours over a background of faint printed script. The camel side says almost nothing: a veined, crackled texture, the suede-look tab, and a single embroidered sentence in dark red across the lower band. A woven Sweet Candy label shows at the edge on either side.

Two ways of closing it

The zip runs along the whole top edge and opens the main compartment in one pull, metal pull and all. The camel strap works differently: it folds across the side and snaps onto the engraved stud, which is the part you use when you only want a card. One closure for keeping, one for reaching.

Inside: windows, gussets and a coin pocket

The lining is camel with a pale blue print. Two clear windows take the cards you have to show, a travel pass or a gym card, while the brown gussets stack the rest. The zipped pocket keeps coins from scattering between the cards, and folded notes slide in behind the gussets.

Colours that sit quietly together

The terracotta front panel is the warmest thing on the wallet and everything else stays calmer: camel on the band, the tab, the lining and the whole reverse, pale blue inside, one run of dark red thread at the bottom.
