A compact cork wallet that folds in three

Open it out and the wallet reads as three panels folding over one another. Two of them take cards, the third carries the ID window, and the coin compartment sits underneath, behind its own metal surround. Closed, it stacks into one short block that keeps its shape.

The mandala print, seen up close

The print covers both faces and the flap. Each pointed oval in the lattice holds its own rosette: some are dense and filled in, others nearly open at the centre. Ochre, burgundy and petrol blue answer each other from one shape to the next.

The two faces do not carry the same piece of the pattern, so the front and the back never quite match. Up close you can still read the pale flecks and the grain under the ink, and the beige topstitching traces the edges instead of disappearing into them.

Carrying it: coat pocket or small bag

This is a wallet for days when you travel light. It slides into a coat pocket without bulking it out, and in a small bag it stays findable instead of sinking to the bottom. The fine-grain beige lining helps there too, since cards stand out against it and you can pick the right one without emptying the slots.

The clear window for an ID card earns its place at a reception desk or a ticket barrier, where the card has to be shown but not handed over.
