How long is it and how does it sit?

The back of the piece is left plain: the wire simply continues to the fastening, with no flowers behind the neck. Its chain extends from 32 to 37 cm (12.6 to 14.6 in), and that range does most of the work. Set short, the garland closes around the throat like a choker. Let it out and it drops just under the collarbone.

Each of the six white fabric flowers has five petals and an ivory pearl bead at its centre. They are spread along several strands of thin wire that twist around one another, with round beads of varying sizes filling the gaps. Nothing is crowded here, so the wire stays visible and the whole thing reads as a loose V rather than a continuous band.

Where the sparkle comes from

Small clear faceted stones sit between the beads. They are the only elements that catch the light directly, which keeps the white and gold palette quiet in photographs.

Fabric petals are the weak point, so keep perfume and hairspray well away: both stain and stiffen the cloth. Wipe the beads with a dry cloth whenever they look dull. Lay the piece flat with the garland open so the fine strands cannot kink, and it will come out of the box ready for the next event.
