Sky blue plain scarf

€14.00

A plain sky blue scarf, cut long and narrow, in a crinkled voile that stays sheer over a single layer. The selvedges fray on their own, and the ends break into a short fringe of loose threads.

Wrapped twice, it sits close to the neck without bulk and the tails still fall past the waist.

A plain sky blue scarf in crinkled voile

One colour, no print, no contrast border: the whole length stays a soft, even sky blue. The weave is fine and slightly uneven, so light passes straight through wherever the fabric is only one layer deep.

Held up to the light

That sheerness is the point. Over a dark top the blue reads deeper; over white it all but disappears. The surface keeps a crinkled, vertically creased texture from end to end, which stops a very quiet colour from looking flat.

Along the edges

Nothing is hemmed flat. The long sides fray softly, and the two ends carry a short fringe that shows whichever way the scarf is tied. Casual rather than dressy, then, and the fringe is the reason.

How it wears, and who it suits

Two turns round the neck are enough to lift a white tee or a denim shirt. Open across the shoulders, it works as a light stole over a plain dress. Rolled up, it takes up almost no room in a bag. More ways to tie it are shown in the full scarf range for women.

Anyone after a folded triangle or a flat knot at the collar will do better with a square, and the square-format selection gathers them.
