Our square scarves for women category groups textile accessories in square format, made to wear at the neck, on the shoulders, as a hair band or knotted to a bag. Prints cover paisley and ethnic classics, the timeless leopard, spring florals, and more graphic codes like chain motifs or equestrian prints. Materials lean on fluid, silk-feel finishes; some pieces add a pleated texture for extra structure. This page sits inside the wider scarves collection and focuses on the square format.
There are 21 products.
The square scarf is a true Swiss-army accessory: a simple piece of square fabric turns into a slim neckerchief, a hair band, a bag handle wrap, or even a knotted summer top. Our edit covers the print classics (paisley, ethnic, leopard, floral) and more graphic codes (chains, equestrian, ballet dancer), all in fluid, silk-feel finishes.
The square format opens more knotting options than a rectangular scarf or a bandana. Folded in a triangle, it wears around the neck as a flat neckerchief. Rolled into a band, it lifts a slick-back hairstyle. Folded on the bias, it dresses a bag handle. The classic square measures 65 to 90 cm per side, covering neck and head uses. Larger pieces (up to 110 cm) work more as shoulder wraps or summer tied tops. To compare with the rest of the family, see our parent scarves page.
The print is the focal point of a square scarf. Four main families structure our range:
Colours sit between muted tones (navy, khaki, taupe, burgundy) and brighter highlights (red, pastel multi-colour). Most pieces fit easily into a neutral wardrobe.
Four knots cover most uses:
For neck and head use, 65-70 cm suits all morphologies. For shoulder or belt use, aim for 90 cm minimum. The large 110 cm square is the all-rounder that covers every knot.
Silk-feel scarves hand-wash in cold or lukewarm water with a neutral soap, never machine and never hot water. Dry flat on a towel, out of direct sunlight (which yellows whites and fades brights). For ironing, low heat on the reverse side, no steam over the print. Store folded in four in a drawer or hung flat on a hanger, never balled up.
The Mode Tendance scarf family offers several complementary formats. See also four-sided scarves for an original reversible format, bandanas for a smaller cowboy or head-wear format, and the parent scarves page for the other sizes and shapes (stoles, snoods, mousseline).
The regular scarf is rectangular (typically 30 × 180 cm), designed mainly to loop around the neck. The square (for example 90 × 90 cm) is versatile: neck, head, bag, belt. The rectangular scarf warms better, the square offers more knot styles and stays wearable year-round.
The simple rule: one visual focal point. If the scarf is very printed, keep the rest of the outfit plain. If the outfit is already patterned, pick a tone-on-tone or solid scarf with a textured finish (pleated, satin). To echo the scarf elsewhere, play on a shoe, a bag or a jewel in the same tonality.
