Our tote bag category gathers fabric, canvas, nylon and cotton models, in graphic prints, geometric motifs or affectionate messages (Maman Chérie, Petite Parisienne, Saint Tropez). The wide open format slips at the bend of the arm or hangs from the shoulder, perfect for office, errands, school or weekend. This page sits inside our bags collection.
There are 10 products.
The tote bag is one of the most versatile women's bag formats: open or semi-open (long handles, flat base), wide capacity (full A4, laptop, file, book), worn over the shoulder or arm. Our selection plays the fabric and canvas tote card, lighter and more expressive than leather: graphic prints, geometric motifs, affectionate messages (Maman, Paris, Saint Tropez), to add personal character to daily looks.
Three contexts stand out. The office or studies: a canvas tote fits full A4, 13 or 15 inch laptop, notebook, without weighing as much as a leather tote. Errands and travel: canvas forgives knocks, short humidity, contact with shopping bags clashing better. It washes if stained, leather doesn't. Weekend and summer: printed canvas dresses a casual jeans-tee look, where leather would feel too formal.
Several registers coexist in the selection:
Materials vary between cotton twill, printed nylon, jute canvas (Maman Super), with crossbody handles or shorter faux leather handles.
Three criteria shape the choice. Base width: to carry a flat A4 file, aim for at least 30 cm wide. For laptop, 35 cm. For weekend, 40 cm and more. Depth: a deep tote keeps content invisible but requires plunging the hand to the bottom. A shallow tote eases access but exposes the content. Handle length: short handles (shoulder) or long (crossbody): choose by silhouette and usual content weight.
The two terms cover almost the same object: bag with handles, open top, no rigid closure. The difference is cultural: "shopper" evokes the market shopping bag, more practical; "tote bag" evokes the printed cotton promotional bag, younger and more styled. Our category covers both, with a graphic bias closer to the tote bag.
Four gift profiles work particularly well. Mother's Day gift: a "Maman Chérie" personalised tote worn visibly transmits a strong emotional message, at a reasonable price. End-of-year gift to a teacher or godmother: a tote with positive quote ("Mademoiselle", "Petite Parisienne") stays useful daily. Housewarming or travel gift: a "Saint Tropez" or geographical printed tote evokes destination or memories. Teen girl gift: a "Rock & Love" or colourful patchwork tote matches the young style register.
Few simple rules. Hand wash for most models: lukewarm water, mild soap, light brushing on stains. Avoid machine unless explicit on the label: faux leather handles can deform, printed motifs can fade. Flat drying, never on radiator: heat shrinks fabric and hardens the print. Iron inside out on the fabric (not on the print) if needed. Storage filled with tissue paper to prevent the tote crushing and losing shape between uses.

Yes for most models, up to 4-5 kg without issue. Beyond, check handle strength (reinforced stitching, double-thickness faux leather) and prefer a model with rigid lining. Pure thin cotton bags without lining or reinforcement are more for light daily use (shopping trip, beach bag).
With gentle care (hand wash, flat drying, no machine), the print holds 3 to 5 years without major fading. With intensive use and frequent machine washes, the print starts to fade after 1 to 2 years. To preserve colour, wash cold, inside out, and avoid the tumble dryer.
Yes for soft fabric models without rigid lining (most). Fold in half or thirds, store flat in a drawer or hang on a hook. For models with rigid base or faux leather handles, prefer upright storage filled with tissue paper to keep shape.
