Twenty-seven centimetres is the figure that settles everything else about this model. The pattern itself reads as a wide check rather than a fine one. The long strap covers the rest: two snap hooks clip onto rings set into the black trim at the top corners, not onto the handle fittings, so the strap comes off completely when you would rather carry the bag by the handles alone. A zip runs across the back of the bag, closing a flat pocket, and four metal studs sit under the black base.

On a working day

Those studs matter more than they look. They lift the black base clear of the ground when the bag goes down on a café floor or a train footwell, and the structure keeps it standing rather than folding sideways, which is visible on the side view. The flat back pocket is the natural home for a travel card or a phone, close to hand while the main volume stays undisturbed. And at 0.7 kg empty, most of what you end up carrying is what you chose to put in, which is not always the case in this size bracket.
