The webbing strap clips on and off in seconds

Start with the strap, because it decides how the bag behaves. It is wide black webbing, printed with tone-on-tone lettering that only catches the light at certain angles. A metal buckle sets the length. Two clips fasten it to the rings on either side, and unclipping them turns the bag back into a hand-carry piece. The rings accept any strap fitted with the same clips, so a patterned strap bought separately will change the look without changing the bag.

A silver clasp on a black flap

The flap covers the top third and shuts on a rectangular silver clasp mounted on a black tab. One press and it is closed. Above it, the rounded top handle sits on two anchor points, short enough to be held in the hand or hooked over the forearm.
