A soft pink silicone watch with a steel-coloured case

The first thing you notice is how wide the case is. The pink registers afterwards, and it registers quietly. The case is steel-coloured, with fluted sides and a knurled crown flanked by two pushers. Around the dial, the bezel repeats the strap colour, so the pink reads as a deliberate choice rather than a detail. Worn on its own, the watch looks like an everyday piece; next to a stack of bracelets, it takes the lead.

Reading the dial and its three counters

The dial has a pale grey sunray finish, so the light shifts across it as the wrist moves. The Arabic numerals are large, black and well spaced, and the baton hands stand clear of them. Three counters sit inside the dial and give the watch its chronograph look. The Ernest name is printed just below the 12. The white bezel markings run from 10 to 60 and frame the dial.

Strap, buckle and care

The strap is soft silicone with two raised ribs running end to end, which stops the surface looking flat. A row of punched holes sets the fit, and a metal pin buckle with a keeper holds the strap in place. To clean it, a soft damp cloth is all the silicone needs.
