A camel strap, a warm gold tone, and no black in sight

Most everyday watches land on black rubber or a steel bracelet. This one goes the other way: a camel silicone strap against a round case in a warm gold tone, with a taupe bezel insert running round it and its numbers picked out in the same shade. It reads as a light, sandy watch rather than a sporty one, which is what sets it apart from the rest of our silicone-strap range.

Ribbed silicone, a pin buckle and a keeper loop

The strap is ribbed along its length and fastens with a gold-tone pin buckle, with a keeper holding the loose end flat. Sizing is done through the punched holes, one-handed, so there is no trip to a jeweller to have links removed, as there would be with a metal bracelet. The flat buckle is also why it slides under a shirt cuff without catching.

Where a pale strap needs a wipe

Moisture collects under the buckle and beneath the keeper rather than on the open part of the strap. Unfasten it, run a damp cloth over those two spots, then dry them properly before the watch goes back on. Pale silicone stays pale that way.
