The lenses carry the structure here. There is no rim around the lenses: each heart is cut to shape and fixed straight to the temple, so nothing crosses the colour on its way down. Blue sits along the brow line, thins out at mid-height and turns to pink at the lower edge of the heart. The shading lines up across both lenses when you look at them straight on. A gold bridge runs between them, above the nose, and it is the widest piece of metal on the front of the pair. The heart shape measures approximately 5.5 cm in height.
